Supporting Independent Bathing in Solihull
We were contacted by a homeowner in Olton, Solihull, who wanted to improve their bathroom, as accessing the large corner bath was becoming increasingly difficult and impractical for daily use.
As a family-run business specialising in accessible bathroom conversions, our aim was to remove physical barriers and create a safer, more practical showering space that would support comfortable use both now and in the future.

The Customers Situation
The existing corner bath had become difficult to access and was no longer practical for everyday use. While the homeowners currently had reasonable mobility, they wanted to make daily routines easier and more comfortable by choosing a safer alternative that would also suit their needs in the years ahead.
Our Assessment & Recommended Solution
Following a free home survey and design visit, we identified this as an ideal bath to walk-in shower conversion. As the customer wished to retain the existing toilet and basin, our focus was on removing the bath and creating a more accessible showering area within the existing layout.
The bath was removed and replaced with a modern walk-in shower, positioned to improve day-to-day comfort and usability. A temperature-stabilised electric shower was installed to provide consistent, easy-to-use control.
To refresh the space and improve long-term practicality, new flooring and a clad ceiling were installed, creating a clean, low-maintenance finish without the need for plastering or painting. Modern grab rails, a folding shower seat, and anti-slip safety flooring in a wood-effect finish were also incorporated to enhance safety and create a future-ready bathroom.
The Installation & Handover Process
1
Consultation & Planning
We began with a free home survey at the Olton property to assess the existing bathroom layout and discuss the customer’s priorities. A clear, fixed-price quotation was provided, along with an agreed installation date to suit the household.
2
Bath to Shower Conversion
Over a three-day period, our team removed the existing bath and prepared the area for the new walk-in shower. A low-level shower tray with an anti-slip finish was installed, along with toughened glass screens for splash protection. Safety flooring, grab rails, a folding shower seat, and a new ceiling were fitted to complete the transformation.
3
Handover and Aftercare
Once the installation was complete, the bathroom was thoroughly cleaned and all waste removed. We demonstrated how to use the new shower and safety features, and the project was completed with a 24-month workmanship guarantee for added peace of mind.
